The Election Is Over...and let's be nice!!

I've been trying to think of a nice post for today and I went on over to my sister's blog and she hit the nail on the head. You should read it, it's not long...sweet and simple.
Whether you're scared or excited about this new "change" we should all just put things into perspective shouldn't we. What a wonderful country we live in, right.
Today, I challenge you to say something nice...whether you mean it or not. I'm not only challenging you, but myself as well. How crude, unchristian -like, unclassy and down right mean it is to say some of the absolutely awful things that I have heard come out of people's mouths lately. I'm no saint, but I do try to think before I speak.
Love y'all and God Bless you, Katy

I always wonder ... why if you love one party ... does that mean you have to vehemently hate the other? No one running for office wants to put our country in harm - people just have different ideas on what is the best way to set things right. I voted for Obama for change - but if McCain had won I hope that I would have been able to realize that the majority had spoken - and that's what democracy is all about.

I put this on my facebook status today.

"I am sad that my man didn't win but I am enjoying the joy Obama has brought to some of my friends. This is why I love living in America--we are all blessed--don't forget it!"

I truly believe this--God is good and He is in control!

I've been an Obama supporter since even before he decided to run for president and believe me when I tell you that I was on the receiving end an endless supply of mean, snarky comments from people back home, I was able to watch John McCain give a wonderful concession speech that added a new word to my description of him: Gracious.

My wish now is that those who felt Obama wasn't right for the job will enter into this next phase with an open mind, if not hope in their hearts. We are all in this together! Like Obama said last night - there isn't a Red America or a Blue America. There is only the United States of America.

Great post, Katy.

I wrote you back on my blog.. :)

You are absolutely right that we live in a wonderful country...the greatest country. I just hope and pray that God will guide the new leader in the right direction to making wise and informative decisions for the better of America! All we can do now is sit back and watch...and pray.
