Yes, the room isn't spic and span..but the border is gondy. YAY!!
It's full of 1960's colorful tiles, most of the bathroom is covered in this peachy colored tile. Guess what though?!...I love it. (good thing right?)
I'm wanting to paint the walls, but I'm thinking I MUST go neutral so the room isn't too busy. I want it to be pleasing to the eye, ya know.
Check out the fun little built-in, where magazines and toilet paper can go...even a little picture frame. Love old homes, just love 'em! Character is what it's all about.
The bathroom isn't tiny, but not huge either. Any color ideas here? Throw them my way if so. I have some paints left over from my kitchen/living room/den and laundry redo's, but what do you think colorwise? Do tell. {no judging on my hand printy/dirty mirror}...thanks
Also, would like to paint the cabinets and mirror border...probably a creamy white, like my kitchen cabinets.
P.S. this is a small project, but don't tell my hubby...he'll have a heart attack just thinking of me and another project. shhhhhhh! thanks

Ooh I don't know about paint color. That's a hard one. Maybe find a color that is a couple of shades darker than the tile, but in the same family. I love old houses too. They have so much character.
Katy! I've missed your blogs. I was actually thinking about you today. :) Have you finished all of your other projects?
Hi Katy! Thanks for stopping by my blog and inviting me over.
First of all, I realllllly like the wall of multi colored hexagon tiles...so unique! And I'm happy that you like the peach tiles too. They would be a booger to bust out and redo. I think you're right about the neutral color for the walls. Maybe one of the neutrals in the patterned tiles??? If it were me I would paint the cabinets and mirror frame black. I'm assuming here that the dark color in the tiles is black...if it's not, that may not work. I just really love the look of black cabinets. I think it is so chic and so classy. You could even add a little skirt to the under sink empty space. Find a beautiful printed black fabric, to tie all the black into the room. Just my to cents! Have fun with it.

Well, if you want my opinion I'd paint a darker color to "settle" down the busy tiled space. If you paint the walls too neutral the eye will keep being drawn to the busy tile. Get a small sample size of something dark-ish and just paint a patch on the wall near the tile and see how you like it.
I, too love, LOVE that tiny mosaic tile--stunning!
I think once you paint the cabs you will be able to more easily land on a wall color. go white or cream--whatever works with the room or the rest of your house.
Or black if that's what you want and if that's in the tile. Cabs first, then wall color.
I started painting the cabinets yesterday, creamy white. They are looking SO good and the whole bathroom is already appearing lighter! Loving it. I was SO afraid of doing a darker type color on the wall, until I painted the cabs and now I'm def. going to go a bit darker than originally planned. Cannot wait to show the reveal. I may just have to post the "during" shots so far. Thanks for your help bloggers.
Ooooh Katy! I love those little tiles! I agree that older homes have so much character! I can't wait to see how it all turns out!
I cant wait to see more~
What about a deeper grey? I am really loving grey right now and I think it would look nice in there with the tile. Even a cooler/lighter grey would be nice. Grab some test samples and Home Depot or Lowes I think they are like $2.50 each and paint them on the wall and live with them for a few days...just a thought...
Glad you got to enjoy the snow!
;-)
Oh, my!
I love that tile.
